Summer Food Program

Sponsors Needed

The families that are served by the North Gwinnett Co-Op depend on the school system to feed their children during the school year.  To ensure the children of our community are not hungry during the summer months, the Co-Op created the Summer Food Program.  The Summer Food Program allows families with children to pick up groceries from the Co-Op twice in June and July.  The Summer of 2016 was amazing.   The community provided the Co-Op with $25,000 and in-kind gifts which allowed the Co-Op to distribute over 45,000 POUNDS of food in just two months.    Funds donated for the Summer Food Program were used to buy perishable items, fresh fruit, vegetables, milk, loaf bread and meats.   During the summer of 2016 we served 2,658 individuals, of which 46% of were children.   In addition to the summer food distributions, the Co-Op will also be assisting families during spring break. For the first time, the Co-Op will be distrbuting groceries during the week of SPRING BREAK.

We are seeking sponsors for the summer food program to enable the Co-Op to purchase kid friendly foods, perishable items and fresh fruit and vegetables.

Sponsorship Opportunities:

Summer Food Program Hero                        $5,000
Summer Food Program Partner                    $3,000

A HOLIDAY THANK YOU

For the 2016 Holidays, we were able to provide:

  • 566 Thanksgiving Meal boxes
  • 638 Christmas Meal boxes
  • over 2,4500 bags of groceries
  • Christmas presents to 382 children and 120 seniors.

For the months of November and December, the Co-Op was blessed with over 400 volunteers who donated over 5,000 hours of their time to help with the holiday distribution days.

All of this holiday support we gave our community is becuase people choose to make a difference in someone's life.  To those that have supported the Co-Op at any point this year, we say thank you.  To those who are looking to partner with an agency in their community that is making a differene, we say, "join us" as we make an impact in the lives of people.  We, as a community, have the COMPASSION, RESOURCES and POWER to implement real change for these families during difficult times!  Please stay on board with us on this journey and be a part of something REALLY BIG as we bring about LIFE CHANGES while we humbly serve in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.  We have a lot planned for 2016 and need each of you to commit yourselves, however you can, to being a part changing lives.
