The North Gwinnett Co-Op depends on the support of our volunteers. Your time is a gift to hungry kids, seniors, and families who do not have enough to eat. We need volunteers every day to help sort and pack food & thrift store donations, as well as assist with special events and administrative support. When you donate your time to the North Gwinnett Co-Op, you become a partner in the fight against hunger in your community.
Things to know before you sign up to volunteer:
1. Volunteers must be a minimum age of 10 years old. Children 15 and younger must be supervised by a parent/guardian.
2. The posted volunteer shifts are NOT ELIGIBLE for court-appointed community service hours. If you are seeking court ordered community service hours – please see below. We will only validate school-related community service hours.
3. Volunteer assignments may change, so please be flexible. You may be asked to assist in the store or pantry area, depending on needs at the time.
4. We ask that volunteers dress comfortably and wear closed-toe shoes. We suggest comfortable shoes as our floors are concrete.
5. Volunteer shifts require standing, lifting, and moving products. If you have any limitations in these areas, please discuss other options with Kim Barry, Assistant Director @ kbarry@ngcoop.org.
6. Due to high demand, we request that you do not sign up for more than one shift per Saturday a month.
WORK GROUPS – Groups over 5 individuals, please contact Kim Barry, Assistant Director @ kbarry@ngcoop.org to schedule your group.
WEEKLY VOLUNTEER – Are you interested in working one shift a week? If you are looking for a weekly commitment, please contact Kim Barry, Assistant Director @ kbarry@ngcoop.org for more details.

Our mobile food pantry program launched in October 2021! Over 300 individuals were served by the mobile food pantry in 2021.
The goal of the mobile food pantry is to bring nutritious food to those in need where transportation is often a challenge. The mobile pantry is free to those attending. We are seeking volunteers to assist us with the mobile pantry distributions. We are especially in need of Bi-lingual Spanish/English volunteers. Mobile Pantry sites are Mondays and Thursdays. Volunteers must be high school and older. Volunteers will assist with set-up, distribution and clean up. Volunteers will be required to sign a confidentiality statement at each distribution location. Specific dates and times for the mobile food pantry are listed in the link below. If you have questions about the Mobile Food Pantry Program, please email Kim Phillips at kphillips@ngcoop.org .
Available times/dates for the Mobile Food Pantry Program may be found here.
