GIVE Help

As our community responds to the spread of coronavirus, the need for emergency food in our service area has greatly increased. Many who have never needed to come to The North Gwinnett Co-Op for help now need assistance – and the seniors, children and families who rely on our services need us more than ever. During the months of March and April, the North Gwinnett Co-Op has distributed more food than it did in ALL OF 2019!!! The need for food and financial assistance are 3 times more than when the crisis began, and lines for help are longer than ever.

Hours for Donations: Monday Noon-8pm, Wednesday-Friday 10am-4pm, Saturday 10am-2pm. Please bring all donations to the back of the building.

Please note our thrift store is closed for renovations. We are accepting food donations only – no thrift store donations.

GET Help

The North Gwinnett Co-Op serves the communities of Buford, Sugar Hill, Suwanee and the Gwinnett County portions of Auburn, Braselton and Hoschton only. If you do not live in one of these communities, please visit www.foodfinder.us to find a food pantry in your area or call the Gwinnett Help Line at 770-995-3339 to find resources in your area.

Food Services: No appointment required, drive-thru system.
Food distributed every 15 days (not to exceed twice a month) for families with school-aged children; otherwise, food is distributed once a month.

Hours for food services: Monday 6pm-8pm, Wed, Thurs & Friday 10am-1pm.

Qualifications for services are a Photo ID for head of household/parent and a current utility bill (name on bill must match the ID).

Clothing & Clinic: The Thrift Store and the Good Samaritan Clinic will remain closed so we can focus our energies on feeding our community.

SCHOOL SUPPLY DRIVE

Last year the North Gwinnett Co-Op distributed over 940 book bags FULL of supplies to children in our community. Unfortunately, due to COVID, we have had to cancel our normal BOOK BAG BASH. But that doesn’t mean we aren’t going to make sure the children in our community are not prepared for school! We are going to host a Drive Thru Book Bag Bash and we need YOUR help to make it a success! How can YOU help???

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

We are so grateful for the outpouring of volunteer support we’ve received during this crisis.

Out of deep concern for your safety, we have shut down all of our on-site volunteer programs at this time.

However, we have a new volunteer opportunity available that community members of all ages can participate in from home.

Stay-At-Home Volunteer Opportunity – Write A Note To A Family in Need: North Gwinnett Co-Op is collecting notes of encouragement for families who are struggling during the COIVD-19 crisis. The notes will be included in boxes of emergency food that are distributed across our service area. This is a simple but meaningful way for our community to stay connected and encourage one another during this difficult time. To participate, simply write a handwritten response to one of the prompts below.

Prompt 1:Write down your favorite scripture or prayer and include a drawing that illustrates your scripture or prayer.
Prompt 2:Write a note of encouragement and illustrate it with an image that symbolizes hope for you, like a rainbow or sunrise.

**Please sign the note with your first name(s) only.

You can mail your notes to The North Gwinnett Co-Op, or come by and leave the notes in a drop box located at the back of the Co-Op during office hours (Monday Noon-8pm, Wednesday-Saturday 10am-4pm).
